The ambition of Open Bench is to grow into a shared workspace and Rotterdam-based jewellery community. Build a space where goldsmiths and jewellery makers can work alongside one another, share tools and knowledge and build professional connections. Open Bench is for independent makers who want access to a fully equipped goldsmith workshop and tools.

Atelier KEYSER run by Lisette, is located in the Schiehaven near picturesque Delfshaven, right alongside the Maas. The building, with its steel structures and high ceilings, reflects the city’s harbour heritage while offering plenty of natural light. The building is filled with other creatives and is nearby het veerhuis, aop noot brood, and bar schiemond.

The atelier is fully equipped for all basic goldsmith needs. The workbenches are also well suited for other table-based activities, making the space flexible for different types of creative jewellery sessions.

* Rent a bench is not a class, but a shared workspace for people who can work autonomously.

If you do not yet have this experience, a course is a better place to start. KEYSER offers a diverse range of courses like, wax works, casting, teeth jewellery or hammertime by guest host Caroline.

Alcoholic drinks and chilled beverages are available on a donation basis.

Reservations & Cancellations

Advance reservation is required (via DM, email, or mobile).
A limited number of workstations is available per day.
Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance.
Late cancellations or no-shows will be charged as a used day.

No refunds
Safety
The workshop is set up for safe independent work.
- General ventilation in the space is adequate
- High ceilings support soldering and heat work
- An air cleaner is available for tin soldering or other fuming tasks
- Gloves, safety goggles, and masks are available for use
- A fire extinguisher, fire blanket, and a fire-resistant work surface are present in the studio
By using the workshop facilities, you acknowledge that working with tools, machinery, and heat involves inherent risks.
KEYSER cannot be held liable for injuries, accidents, or damage resulting from the use of the workspace and equipment.
Accessibility

The studio is located in the harbor area, in an industrial building on the second floor.
Unfortunately, there is no elevator in the building.

- Use of tools and facilities is at your own risk
- The studio is not responsible for personal injury
- Participants are responsible for loss or damage to personal property
- Damage to studio equipment due to improper use may be charged
- Leave your workspace clean and tidy
- Safe working practices are mandatory
- No visitors or guests without a reservation
- Work with care and craftsmanship: respect each other’s space, belongings, and creative work.
- Respect the building and quay
Pilot

Open Bench starts as a pilot.
During this period, the setup or pricing may be adjusted based on use and experience.
Full days

Bench bookings are offered per full day only (12:00–17:00). It is not possible to book by the hour or half day. Your reserved bench remains available to you for the entire time slot, regardless of your arrival or departure time. No refunds are issued for unused time.
