Meet the Instructor
Lisette is a traditionally trained goldsmith and founder of Atelier Keyser. She studied at Vakschool Schoonhoven and later completed Product Design at the Willem de Kooning Academy. Inspired by the sea close to home — where ossa sepia can sometimes be found washed up on the beach — she incorporates this organic material into her casting process. The raw, unpredictable character of casting remains a personal favourite and continues to shape her work.

What you get A guided workshop, insight in some basics that come with the craft: sawing, filing, finishing and ofcourse hot melted casting. At the end of day you can take your creation home with you.
Level: Medium. Well use the burner and the whole proces will take some focus and patience.
During this workshop, you will create your own mould from organic ossa sepia (cuttlefish bone) and cast your own object — a pendant, ring, or small sculptural piece. With guidance, you will pour your own silver casting using molten metal.
After casting, your piece will require some finishing. All necessary tools are available in the studio, and you will be guided through the entire process. At the end of the day, you will take your own handmade design home.
Casting can be a bit tricky, and a perfect solid result is not guaranteed. This workshop is best suited for those who are open to the experience and eager to learn, rather than focused on achieving a specific outcome. It is a wonderful introduction to the traditional craft of goldsmithing and provides valuable insight into fundamental techniques and materials.
The workshop encourages experimentation and embraces surprises. You will have the opportunity to use the large burner, learn about mould making, and walk through the complete process of finishing a silver piece. Discover the techniques, explore the material, and experience the magic of casting.
